    i'm still using my 9550 in an old dell. just last week i bought a 2.6 ghz northwood p4 to upgrade from a 1.6 ghz willamette. i think the 2.6 was the fastest i can get with the 400 mhz fsb. and now i'll play grandia ii.

    Asus P5K was the first mobo that i purchased with my own money in 2008 and it was used, i still have it but last year when i found it in one of the boxes i noticed that one of socket pins is deformed- now when it posts it shuts down and powers on rapidly - hope to replace the socket someday on it because of the good memories, but when I checked how much this mobo is worth i saw it for like 8 bucks used working so i don't know is the socket replace worth it. But again still this board was very cool at the time... Oh and also my first gpu that I bought or got as a gift (I don't remeber) was radeon x1300 it worked for a long time in my windows 7 machine, suddenly after 3 years of box-time it died, but i recapped the board, and it's still going and that was what like 2003 ? Love your content man, maybe I'm not as extreme case of old tech hoarding, but I have been collecting old pc parts for a lot of years too. Keep it up friend your making an awsome job! (P.S sorry for the language)

    I have the Q6600 105w , but it makes components around the CPU to overheat . The system powers on till boot screen with no problems but it's the heat that worries me . I have a huge fan and heat-sink ( Gigabyte G power lite ), so I don't think it's a cooling issue

    • @YoutubeTookMyNickname.WhyNot
      @YoutubeTookMyNickname.WhyNot 3 дні тому

      Thats on purpose. Back then you didnt need fans at all. CPU fan did all the case air exchange. GPUs had 50mm fans and no heat pipes, just blocks of aluminum. What you really needed was cooling for hardrives because, you know, data is more important than RGB. There are two ways you can do heat exchange in a case, air pressure and air velocity. Air velocity was always mainly used for pro use(servers), while pressure was for PCs. Now it shifts towards velocity and its not that smart choice. I tell you why. Notice servers are tightly packed slits perfectly designed for high velocity air heat exchange. But the PC case isnt. The air is just going out and in freely in any directions. One fan blows in and a second next to it blows it all out because air flow is a technical term. Once you achieve air flow in the case, that means all molecules of air go through predetermined path, missing important components in case. Thats quite ineffective. Theres a lot of stupid design these days, but as it goes, 20 years old computer case is considered dropped by an ape straight from the tree right? Remember that physics for this scenario was invented around steam machines 150 years ago. So, do you even physics, bro?
